Mumtaz Mahal (Jewel Palace)
Mumtaz Mahal is also known as the Palace of Jewels, which is located in the Lal Kila complex, inside the Rang Mahal. This mahal was built using red sandstone for Arjumand Banu Begum, popularly called Mumtaz Mahal. Now this palace is a museum, which presents numerous historical artifacts housed in six different galleries. There are also some important sites associated with Emperor Akbar and other Mughal rulers. Tourists can also see several manuscripts, royal orders, miniature paintings, stone inscriptions, daggers, swords and royal costumes.This museum has a separate gallery of Bahadur Shah Zafar, which houses his personal belongings, such as gunpowder horns, a sprinkler with rose water, a pen holder and an inkwell.
