Solomon Islands National Museum
The Solomon Islands National Museum is located in Honiara. The collection includes cultural artifacts from the Solomon Islands, and some WWII artifacts. Several buildings were donated by Japanese government grants. The museum building was donated by the Government of Japan and officially opened November 12, 1999. It also includes a library, collections area and media room. During the 'Tensions' in 2001-3, some of the collection was stolen.
